A little bit about us…

An eclectic collection of Christian fiction writers and writers of Christian fiction from all over North California meets every two months in Sunnyvale. We explore new ideas, encourage each other and help each of us write more and better than we would do alone.

The highlight of each meeting is a workshop or presentation by a member or guest speaker on a topic related to writing. Some of this year’s topics included: negotiating a contract with a publisher, qualities of Christian fiction and first pages.

We also share our progress in writing, editing or publishing our work. We make recommendations for interesting events or resources. If one of us is stuck, we brainstorm how to get out of that tight spot. We organise an annual writing contest. All our productive Saturday mornings end with a companiable lunch where we talk about – you guessed it – writing.

The meetings run for two hours, starting at 10:00 AM each third Saturday of the uneven months of the year (January, March, May, July,  September, November), at 442 S Mary Avenue in Sunnyvale. For an up-to-date overview of meetings, please visit our meetup page.

We are the North California chapter of the American Christian Fiction Writers, so ACFW SFBA (San Francisco Bay Area) for short.
